Pure Leapfrog is delighted to be offering British Airways customers the opportunity to offset their flight carbon emissions from today.
The new flight calculator tool, which is available at https://www.pureleapfrog.org/ba/carbon_zero, allows customers to determine the emissions created by their journey (taking into account departure and destination points, class of travel and number of passengers) and then to offset these emissions by select certified carbon offset projects to contribute to.
This initiative builds on Pure Leapfrog’s existing partnership with British Airways through which customer donations at the point of booking are applied by the British Airways Carbon Fund to create more sustainable local buildings. Thus far, 48 local communities in the UK and Africa have benefitted from the Fund – including schools, community centres, scout halls, leisure centres, churches and after school care facilities.
Pure Leapfrog CEO, Claire Hanratty said, “Climate change is a threat to our world and everyone who lives in it, now and in the future. We are pleased to be offering British Airways customers the means take accountability for unavoidable carbon emissions by investing in certified offset projects that have both social and environmental benefits in deprived communities”.
