Michael is an independent advisor specialising in helping clients understand how central government really works, and in energy and energy efficiency policy and financing. Michael was previously a civil servant, with extensive experience in different areas of regulation across a number of departments and a regulator. Michael has also worked in many areas of energy policy, including renewables, especially offshore wind, electricity and gas regulation, nuclear power, business and public sector energy efficiency and electricity demand reduction, and sponsorship of Ofgem E Serve. Michael also created and oversaw the Community Energy Unit. These were all in the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), previously known as the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).
