Robert Rabinowitz has decided to resign his position as CEO of Pure Leapfrog. Robert feels that he has taken Pure Leapfrog through its current stage of development and that it is time to explore new interests within the community energy sector.

The board of trustees wishes to thank Robert for everything that he has done to help make Pure Leapfrog into the leading provider of social investment and professional support to community energy projects in the UK.

Pure Leapfrog continues to be committed to the goal of supporting the creation of 500MW of community renewables in the next five years.  In order to achieve this target, Pure Leapfrog will be looking for a suitable replacement as CEO to further develop the successful platform that the charity has created following the merger of Carbon Leapfrog with Pure the Clean Planet Trust in 2013. This process has already begun, however we would always welcome discussions with those currently within the sector regarding potential candidates.

During this transition period, Alex Germanis (until recently Head of Engagement at Pure Leapfrog) has agreed to act as interim CEO and with the full backing and support of the board will ensure that we continue working towards our goals.

Pure Leapfrog is looking to move into a new stage of its development.   In the last 12 months, (with support from its funders, investors and partners in the community energy sector), Pure Leapfrog has:

  • Increased its loan assets by 126% to almost £650k
  • Grown its income by 88% to over £600k
  • Offset over 30,000 tonnes of carbon emissions through projects in China, India and Africa
  • Secured an increase in the Big Society Capital lending facility to £1.5m

The strength of the Pure Leapfrog team, with continued support from the dedicated board of Trustees, will no doubt enable us to make our targets a reality and we look forward to rising to the challenge of our 500MW target.
