From Surviving to Thriving 08/03/2016 By Pure Leapfrog This year our annual event was kindly hosted by Bank of America Merrill Lynch on March the 8th, bringing together a diverse group of people from across the community energy sector. There has been a flurry of activity over the last few months as community energy becomes accustomed to a withdrawal of financial support mechanisms. In the post subsidy world community energy will require new business models, innovations in finance and technology and collaborative partners to not only survive but thrive. With a captive audience of over 120 people, the speakers and panel debate, chaired by Richard O’Rourke ME of Leapfrog Finance, challenged the energy status quo addressing energy supply, the role of local authorities and the value of community ownership and finance. If you couldn’t make it to the event, the speakers have kindly made their presentations available for you below. Sam Hollister, Senior Economic Policy Advisor at Energy UK. Dawn Muspratt, Founding Chief Executive at Our Power. James Owen, Commercial Director, Public Power solutions. Jamie Hartzell, Founder and Chair of Ethex. We would like to thank all of our speakers for their useful insights and to those of you who attended and contributed to a lively evening. A selection of photos from the event will be available on our Facebook page and our latest video on Leapfrog Finance, shown on the night, is also available here. See you at our next event!
