Pure Leapfrog draws on its expertise in Carbon, Sustainable Finance, Energy Systems, and Natural Capital, to evolve new products, services and business models that are predicated on community ownership structures and that promote our goals of sustainability and decarbonisation
Collaboration is in our DNA. We work with partners from a wide range of sectors in order to deliver common goals against well aligned values. Our core skills and competencies are leveraged through our extensive network that includes professional services, finance and investment, energy systems, local authorities, academia, communities and other third sector organisations.
We target our efforts at developing new business models and ownership structures that contribute to accelerating the decarbonisation of our economy, as well as delivering positive social impact for more disadvantaged and harder to reach communities.
We have extensive experience in carbon markets – understanding the structuring, finance, and standards from a project perspective.
We contribute to ongoing work on developing new standards for next generation projects, on understanding the role of insetting, and in developing solutions for supply chain impact of scope 3.
We are part of a growing group of organisations engaging with nature as part of the climate solution.
Adaptations, soil carbon, responsible biomass production, and renewables generation are all additional pressures on land. These need to be balanced with issues of food production & security and biodiversity.
We work with partners to better understand these intersections and develop tools and business models to ensure increasingly sustainable approaches to land use are taken in the future.
We have a deep understanding of energy – from local systems to national market arrangements, and regulation.
We take an engineering led approach to decarbonising the energy system, with skills in project development and modelling to support that work.
We aim to deliver new project types and business models that have the potential for community wealth building, and are guided by the principles of Just Transition and an understanding of fuel poverty.
Net zero needs financing.
We have proven sustainable finance experience and a wide international network that give us insights into multiple sectors and instruments
We use these to remove barriers to financing and contribute to development of new approaches.
This enables greater mobilisation of capital into local net zero transition plans.
We only work with closely aligned corporate partners who have transparent intentions to only offset unabatable emissions.
We access carbon markets through a strong network of project developers, promoters and trusted intermediaries, to select only the highest quality carbon offsets.
We work on fixed fees not margins and give our clients full transparency.
Project development support
We support project development goals, whether sub 50kW rooftop schemes or MW scale ground mount.
We have skills, templates and a network of partners to provide financial and energy modelling, legal agreements, finance, and offtakers for a range of projects.
We work with partners seeking to develop projects that also have social impact.
Access to finance
We assist local authorities and community projects in financing their net zero transition plans.
We help project developers arrange debt finance, can assist with green and sustainable bond frameworks, and community share raises.
We contribute to the Financing a Just Transition Alliance and the Place-based Impact Investing Forum.
Since 2011 we have managed the British Airways Carbon Fund which channels donations from BA customers to impactful green projects that have included community solar, peatland restoration, and Payment for Environmental Services trials.
We are currently working with a solar developer on plans to create a structure and mechanism to support projects that will increase biodiversity on solar farms.
Research and development
Our own Innovation Programme exists to develop new project types and business models.
We also partner with other research projects where there is a strong link between our joint works, such that we both benefit from increased insights and understanding.

Community energy back office
We have a long history of supporting the Community Energy sector and seek to build lasting partnerships with Community Energy organisations to help them leverage their impact in their local area. We can support large parts of the administrative burden so groups can focus on pipeline and local strategic priorities.
We offer support with Invoicing and Bookkeeping, Secretariat, Asset Management, and Member Communications.
We are a distributed multi-disciplinary team, with one thing in common: we use our talents to help people and the planet.
We have a particular focus on projects in under served and disadvantaged communities, and to that end are currently quite active in NW England.
We are always on the lookout for talented people who believe in what we do, to work alongside us.
If you are interested in working with us and think that we might just be the perfect fit for your talents, then please do get in touch.
